The Maintenance Facility was a 15,000 sf Design Build project that included a 5,500 sf storage building. It housed the Maintenance Facility for the Ogden Weber Applied Technology College in one wing and the grounds department in the other. Included in the facility is a chemical storage area, a flammable storage area, a weld shop, and a wood shop.
The building is comprised of a steel structure with load bearing masonry walls. The exterior walls were furred and insulated to provide high efficiency heating and air conditioning. Skylights and high windows were used to provide natural light to the interior.
After the new building was completed, the old facility was demolished including the old 125 ft high concrete stack. The project was completed on time and on budget.
