OVERVIEW

Gramoll Construction completed the Red Butte Garden Orangerie Connector project at the University of Utah. This structure provides a dedicated entrance and exit route between the Orangerie event venue and the Gardens Visitor Center.

Key components of the project include a new bi-directional elevator, a grand stairway, a micro gardening area, and a service space. The Connector serves as a welcoming lobby for the Orangerie and provides ADA-compliant access to the facility’s upper level.

The building features architecturally exposed concrete and structural steel, a glass-railed sky bridge, a vegetated roof, and a high-performance silk-screened frit glazing system. These elements combine to create a functional and aesthetically pleasing addition to the Red Butte Garden.
