OVERVIEW

The Safe Harbor Community Lifeline and Prevention Center included constructing the new 7,000 SF outreach services building in Layton, Utah. The center is designed to better provide domestic violence and sexual assault advocacy services in the local community. Due to the sensitive nature of the services provided, security was a top priority.

 

The center provides advocacy offices where advocates meet with and counsel victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. It includes a childcare center with an outdoor play area, conference rooms, and administrative offices. It also includes a full array of solar panels on the roof financed through a blue-sky grant. It is built on a site donated by Intermountain Healthcare and with funding from state grants and significant private donations.

 

The center helps raise awareness for the services available to victims of domestic violence and sexual assaults. The center also provides therapy for children, education awareness classes, and other resources to the community at no cost. The building was designed and built to be inviting and aesthetically pleasing while maintaining a safe and secure environment for clients.
